The News from Kiev, Ukraine

The Committee on Special Activities is proud to offer a special program to our members featuring Bruce Donahue, Deputy Chief of Mission at the United States Embassy in Kyiv [Kiev], Ukraine. He is the son of our long time member and supporter, Joe Donahue, and we are fortunate that his travels to Naples have offered us this unique opportunity.

The turmoil we have watched for these past weeks and the “Putin Putsch” has clearly held the interest of our members; an interest that we anticipate Mr. Donahue will discuss with us on Tuesday, April 8th, at 3 pm. at the Seminar Room of the Claussen Center at St. John the Evangelist Church, 625 111th Avenue No.

Bruce Donahue, a Senior Foreign Service Officer, arrived in Kyiv on July 27, 2013 after serving from 2010-2013 as Deputy Chief of Mission in Yerevan, Armenia. Other overseas assignments have included Moscow, Seoul, and Warsaw. In Washington he has served as the Deputy Office Director in the State Department office responsible at the time for both the Caucasus and Central Asia. In addition, from 2006-2009, Mr. Donahue led the Foreign Service Institute’s Orientation Division which provides training to all new State Department Foreign Service and Civil Service employees.
