Muslim Engagement in the 21st Century
Farah Pandith is the first ever Special Representative to Muslim Communities for the United States Department of State. Ms. Pandith has traveled through more than 50 countries in her engagement with Muslim communities and, specifically, with the under 30 population. What are the changes taking place in countries with both majority and minority Muslim populations? What are the benchmarks for change in 21st Century statecraft, and why should the United States care?
Ms. Pandith is a Muslim, born in India, and is a graduate of Smith College and received her Masters in Law and Diplomacy from the Fletcher School. Her career has included working with Elliott Abrams at the National Security Council at the White House and with USAID in Kabul, Afghanistan. Before coming to Government, she was Vice President for International Business for ML Strategies, LLC in Boston.
