The Naples Council on World Affairs

will welcome

Dr. Daniel Markey

St. John the Evangelist’s Kiney Hall

625 111th Avenue No. North Naples

What is the nature of our relationship with Pakistan today in the aftermath of the bin Laden raid? Always “touchy”, what role might we expect Pakistan to play as US forces depart Afghanistan? Clearly the question of an ongoing relationship with Washington is likely to remain for years, perhaps even decades to come. Dr. Markey’s book, [for sale at the lecture] spells it out in the title: No Exit from Pakistan: America’s Tortured Relationship with Islamabad.

Daniel S. Markey is senior research professor at Johns Hopkins University’s School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS). He is also the academic director for the SAIS Global Policy Program and an adjunct senior fellow for India, Pakistan, and South Asia at the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR). Dr. Markey earned a bachelor's degree in international studies from Johns Hopkins University and a doctorate in politics from Princeton University.
