The Perils of Journalism With John Donvan, Global Correspondent
John Donvan will address the Naples Council on World Affairs on Monday, November 17th, 2014, at St. John the Evangelist’s Kiney Hall, 625 111th Avenue No. in North Naples. The lectures will take place at 3:45 and 7:30 pm.
John Donvan
John Donvan is the host and moderator for the Intelligence Squared U.S. Debates and is an author and correspondent for ABC News. He has hosted "Nightline," "World News," “Good Morning America," and NPR’s “Talk of the Nation,” and WBUR's "On Point." A three-time Emmy winner, he served as ABC’s Chief White House correspondent, and held postings in London, Jerusalem, Moscow and Amman. He is an avid storyeller, premiering his first one man show -- "Lose the Kid" -- in Washington, DC in September of 2013, under the auspices of SpeakeasyDC. Recognized by the National Magazine Awards for his 2011 Atlantic profile piece “Autism’s First Child,” he is currently writing a book on the history of autism to be published by Crown in September 2015.
In addition to his three Emmy Awards, Donvan has won several Overseas Press Club Awards, two Cine Golden Eagles, and has been honored by the National Association of Black Journalists, the Committee of 100, and the Media Action Network for Asian-Americans. He is a magna cum laude graduate of Dartmouth and the Columbia University School of Journalism.
