Mark Schwab Mark Schwab, retired CEO of Star Alliance, whose 26 members constitute the world's first and most comprehensive global airline alliance, has been elected president of the NCWA Board of Directors. Beginning his career with Pan American World Airways with assignments in South America, he later joined United Airlines in a variety of executive positions in Mexico, London, Tokyo and Chicago before joining Star Alliance. Mark has served NCWA as a member of the School Outreach Committee and most recently as chair of the Membership Committee after joining the Board of Directors two years ago. He and his wife Yone still travel extensively. Mark replaces outgoing president Jim Schmotter, who remains on the Board. Other officers for the next season are Mimi Gregory, Vice President for Programs; Carol Green, Vice President for Operations; Jinny Johnson, Secretary, and Robert Roussel, Treasurer. Committee chairs will be: Robert Roussel, Finance; | NCWA Elects New Officers, Six new members of the Board of Directors were elected at the Annual Meeting April 3. They are: -- Dave Brown, a furniture manufacturing executive with extensive international experience and leader of a Great Decisions group. -- Francisco A. Figueroa, an engineer and CPA and retired executive with Lockheed Martin Corporation, culminating as president of the Mission Support Alliance, a 3,000-employee company providing essential mission services to the Hanford, WA, remediation site where plutonium was manufactured during the Manhattan Project, as well as prior experience in the space industry. -- John T. Kovach, a member of the NCWA School Outreach Committee and retired human resources executive in three large multinational corporations. He has extensive international travel experience. -- Judith Lipnick, who has previously served in many NCWA leadership roles including chair of Model UN, vice president of operations and president and is retired vice president of sales at Home Box Office Services. -- Mark K. Schneider, recently retired senior information technology executive in the hospital and health information arena and former consultant on health information strategies for large integrated health networks, Fortune 100 technology firms and foreign governments. -- Martha L. Williams, digital media industry researcher, speaker and consultant who has researched digital media trends and data and artificial intelligence for media and headed her own company, Work Newsmedia Network. Gunther Winkler, who served two three-year terms on the Board of Directors, including as Vice President of Operations, Webmaster and Chair of the Nominating Committee, has left the NCWA Board to become president of Greater Naples Leadership. |
