Every year the Council honors a local teacher with its "Louis H. Kuhn Teacher of the Year" award. This award has been given annually to an outstanding Collier middle or high school Social Studies teacher who demonstrated excellence in teaching global issues in the classroom and who has participated actively in programs offered by the Naples Council. Teachers wishing to nominate a colleague for this award, which carries with it a trophy and a $500 honorarium, should submit a nomination form to the Council.
