Economic Recovery in a Global Context
Dennis Lockhart, President of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, has had an extensive foreign banking career in the Middle East, Europe and Asia, as well as North and South American postings. Adding his broad domestic experience, we can count on an excellent overview of the global economy.
Dennis P. Lockhart took office on March 1, 2007, as the 14th President and Chief Executive Officer of the Sixth Federal Reserve Bank at Atlanta. He will address the Naples Council on World Affairs on Monday, March 22nd, at St. John the Evangelists Kiney Hall, 625 111th Avenue, at 3:45pm and 7:30pm. Mr. Lockhart held several positions both domestic and international with Citicorp/Citibank, now known as Citigroup, from 1971 to 1988. He has worked in the Middle East, Saudi Arabia, Iran and Greece, and was head of the firms Latin-America debt to equity swap investment program, designed to restructure sovereign debt. He has worked in Africa and Latin America as managing partner with Zephyr Management and as President of the Heller Group with activities in commercial banking, finance and merchant banking in North and South America, Europe and Asia. Mr. Lockhart holds a B.A. in political science and economics from Stanford University and an M.A. in international economics and American Foreign Policy from Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies.
